ISTEP: A Roadmap to Authentic Youth Adult Partnerships
Session Description: Led by youth, and supported by adults, Iowa Students for Tobacco Education and Prevention (ISTEP) is a statewide movement made up of young Iowans who want to step up and take action against tobacco, including vaping, all while making friends, making a difference and becoming leaders. Join the ISTEP Youth Coordinator alongside youth ISTEP Council Members to explore the ISTEP program, how they’ve established authentic youth adult partnerships, and how you can too!
Learning Objectives:
- Attendees will learn about the ISTEP Program and gain skills for establishing authentic youth adult partnerships.

Jill Wright, MPH, is the ISTEP Youth Coordinator among the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services. Jill has over 7 years of working alongside young people. Her passions lie in youth-adult partnerships and youth leadership development. She finds joy in coaching and mentoring young people towards becoming confident young leaders. Outside of work, you can find Jill loving on her family, volunteering at church and enjoying the small town life of farmer’s markets and community events.
