An Update on Federal Alcohol and Drug Policy

Session Description: In this session, Robert Morrison will lead the audience through updates in the alcohol and drug policies at the federal level, and describe how these policies directly affect Iowans.

Executive Director and Director Legislative Affairs – National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors (NASADAD)

Rob first came to Washington D.C. in 1993 to work for the late United States Senator Frank R. Lautenberg of New Jersey. He left Capitol Hill in 1998 to work for the National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors (NASADAD) as a Public Policy Associate.  Rob went on to serve as Associate Director of Government Relations at Smith, Bucklin and Associates from 1999 to 2001.  He then returned to NASADAD in 2001 as Director of Public Policy and went on to become Executive Director in 2009.  He graduated from Drew University in New Jersey with a B.A. in Political Science and completed graduate work in American Government at Johns Hopkins University.
