Description: This presentation will focus on Iowa DNRs Two Dimensional Base Level Engineering (2D BLE) effort.  The presentation will also discuss how communities and engineers can access and download modeling and other flood risk related data.  Mitigation efforts in the State will also be highlighted.

Author Bio: Chris Kahle is the Iowa DNRs Floodplain Mapping Coordinator and Cooperating Technical Partner lead with FEMA.  Chris has worked for Iowa DNR for the last 23 years doing various GIS projects but was brought into the floodplain mapping world after the 2008 floods that devastated Iowa.  Chris has a BA in Psychology with a minor in geography from the University of Iowa as well as a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning (Environmental emphasis) from the University of Kansas.
