Planning Step Overview Regional Webinar – 2.50 hr. x 4 regional webinars (same webinar held 4 different times)

Planning increases the effectiveness of prevention efforts by ensuring that prevention professionals select and implement the most appropriate programs and strategies for their communities. This webinar will provide an overview of Planning step of the Strategic Prevention Framework. In addition, the components to support completion of this step including the logic model, strategic plan, and action plan deliverables will be discussed. Time will be allotted for agency-specific breakout sessions to work on the county logic models supported in each service area. The same webinar will be offered four times.

Learning Objectives
Participants will learn about:

  • Planning step of the Strategic Prevention Framework
  • Planning step deliverables including logic models, action plan and strategic plan
  • Creating a county specific logic model

If any staff have conflicts with the recommended date, participation during another date/time is permitted.

Environmental Strategies 101 Webinar Series – 1.50 hr. x 2-part webinar

The most effective approach to reducing risk and increasing protection includes modifying policies, practices, procedures, and systems. These prevention services happen through environmental strategies. These changes are the best sustainable solutions to substance misuse problems and should be the number one long-term strategy around which communities develop their efforts. This two-part webinar series will focus on the types of environmental strategies that affect community change as well as the steps needed to move policy change forward. Participants should plan to attend both webinars.

Participants will learn about:

  • Modifying policies, practices, procedures, systems
  • Changing the physical environment
  • Changing consequences
  • Reducing barriers

These two trainings will focus on best practices around implementation on environmental strategies for all IPN prevention staff. This training is split into two parts so. attendance at both trainings is strongly recommended
