This full day workshop will help engineers understand the State of Iowa’s and FEMA requirements for permitting projects near or in our streams and rivers.

The workshop will cover the administrative code that governs permitting and when permits are required, best practices for what to submit for permit applications including when and what hydraulic modeling will need to be submitted, and what different flood mapping zones mean and when a “no-rise” certification is required.   

Attendees will come away with a better understanding of state and local floodplain permitting rules and best practices to streamline the permitting process.
