Purpose

To train contractors and other participants on the construction and installation of drainage water quality improvement practices such as bioreactors, saturated buffers, oxbows, wetland, etc., installation best practices, meeting construction requirements, as well as orient participants on how to submit bids on Batch and Build Projects through the State of Iowa Online Portal as well as USDA-NRCS projects.

Format

This is a one-day workshop which includes a combination of lectures and discussions, field visits, and panel discussions with other contractors, watershed coordinators, and planning & design staff for batch and build contracts. By attending this workshop, participants will be able to plan and bid contracts, better understand batch and build process, understand bidding and requirements for non-batch and build projects, and learn how to avoid common planning and construction errors to effectively install drainage water quality improvement practices on the landscape.
