RDHRS Concept: Regional Work in Burn and Trauma Preparedness
Judy has her master’s degree in nursing and a post master’s certificate as a family nurse practitioner. Her background is in critical care, burn and plastic surgery with the last 24 years focused on the acute surgical and reconstructive care of the burn patient. Just has had an interest in disaster preparedness for years and is involved with the American Burn Association (ABA) disaster preparedness program. Judy is the lead of the Region VII Disaster Health Response Ecosystem Burn specialty team. Her experience with disaster planning and exercise development will help identify gaps in preparedness, provide technical assistance to healthcare facilities and assist in continuing to build on the partnerships developed within the region.
Join Kevin Kemp, MD, and Judy Placek, APRN, as they discuss how the Regional Disaster Health Response Ecosystem (RDHRE) plays a role in disaster preparedness at the trauma and burn level. These experts will discuss the regional burn optimization along with continued development of regional approach to trauma care during a disaster.
