Case Presentations from Iowa

Dionne Skeete is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She is the Division Director of Acute Care Surgery and serves as the trauma medical director for the Adult Level 1 trauma center. She immediate past Chair of the Iowa Committee on Trauma and has currently serves on the National Committee on Trauma.

This presentation will discuss 3-4  trauma cases from trauma care facilities in Iowa and discuss management and decision points that impact patient outcome

  1. Describe initial stabilization of multi-injured trauma patients.
  2. Identify indications for transfer.
  3. Describe indications for surgical stabilization at level III versus transfer.
