2022 Seed Analyst Short Course

You may attend one or both weeks (Purity & Germination; can’t attend both Purity weeks). Cost for attending one week is $350.00 and for attending both weeks is $630. Registration cut-off is one week before start of Purity Weeks (April 11 & April 25) and two weeks prior to the starting date of the start of Germination Week (April 11).

Purity Week normally fills up more quickly that Germination as we cap registration at 10 participants (for each Purity week). A waiting list will be set up for each week for the possibility of adding participants based on circumstances.

NOTE ABOUT AOSA & SCST CONSOLIDATED EXAMS: You MUST qualify to take either or both exams. This is done by contacting AOSA or SCST
(information available at www.analyzeseeds.com).

Change In Plans?
If you cannot attend a workshop, you may send a substitute. Cancellations made at least one week in advance will be subject to a $20 handling fee. For cancellations made within a week of the workshop, you’ll be reimbursed 50 percent of your fee. No refunds are provided for cancellations made after the start of the workshop.

2022 AOSA BEGINNER PURITY ANALYSIS SHORT COURSE

This will be an introductory course to Purity Analysis; participants with little to no experience will be able to learn the basics in an open-minded setting. We will learn how to apply the AOSA Rules to a variety of different species and scenarios commonly encountered in the lab. We will also learn the importance of sampling and about the different tools used to make purity analysis faster, easier and more accurate. Topics will be accompanied by worksheets to work through problems, as well as hands on samples.

2022 AOSA GERMINATION TESTING SHORT COURSE

During Germination week, participants gain experience evaluating seedlings of 16 species (crops, vegetables, flowers grasses, etc.) using the warm germination test, plus working with the cold test, accelerated aging test, tests for biotech traits (herbicide bioassay, immunoassay), tetrazolium and more. A popular and unique highlight of the week is a three hour session of moving between stations for hands-on work in the Germination lab.

2022 AOSA ADVANCED PURITY ANALYSIS SHORT COURSE

This course will provide an opportunity for participants with experience in Purity Analysis to see species which they may not typically encounter in the lab or to study for the AOSA/SCST Purity Exam, which will be offered at the end of the week. We will study the AOSA Rules from the perspective of potentially taking the exam and work through more challenging aspects of the rules. Lectures will be interactive and open discussion will be encouraged. Topics will be accompanied by worksheets to work through problems, as well as hands on samples.
