Continuing Education

Certificates will be provided to each attendee. Certificates that meet the requirements identified by the Iowa Board of Social Work, Iowa Board of Behavioral Science, and Iowa Board of Certification will be sent from Iowa State University. Certificates will be sent within sixty days of the event.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine and the Iowa Statewide Perinatal Care Program. The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Physician: The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

Nurse: The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine designates this activity for a maximum of 6.0 ANCC contact hours. 

Social Worker: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 6.0 general continuing education credit(s).

Other Health Care Providers: A certificate of participation will be available after successful completion of the course. (It is the responsibility of licensees to determine if this continuing education activity meets the requirements of their professional licensure board.)

To receive CE credit participants will need to complete an evaluation and self-claim credit.  It is the responsibility of each participant to complete the CE requirements by the due date.

  • Participants will complete an attestation form.
  • This attestation form will be emailed to the email address used during your registration at the end of each day.
  • Attestation forms must be completed by the end of the day by Monday, September 9th.
  • Your registration will be cross checked against your paid registration. Paid registration is required to receive credit.
