The Approaches to Pain Management Conference is a part of the Iowa Department of Public Health’s Opioid Initiatives that support prevention, treatment and recovery from substance use disorders. For more information on Opioid Initiatives, please visit YourLifeIowa.org.
Goal: To provide education on pain management in order to increase the knowledge of professionals serving individuals impacted by substance use.
Objective 1: Attendees will be able to identify the impacts created in the interaction between chronic pain and substance use.
Objective 2: Attendees will be able to identify local resources in the state of Iowa for accessing resources for pain management.
Objective 3: Attendees will be able to identify non-pharmaceutical approaches for managing pain.
The Approaches to Pain Management Conference is funded by the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration and the Office of Women’s Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
