Using Iowa’s Reservoirs to Facilitate Nutrient Removal
Description: Recent research has shown that Iowa’s major flood-control reservoirs (Coralville, Red Rock, and Saylorville) remove large amounts of nutrients and sediment from the state’s rivers. This presentation explores how adjustments to water storage protocols in these reservoirs may help facilitate the removal of problematic nutrients and improve water quality downstream.
