Arriving early? Check out our pre-conference activities. Both pre-conference tours launch from the lowa Lakeside Lab, 1838 Highway 86, Milford, IA 51351.

Attendees will choose between a watershed tour by bus (3:00 – 6:30 PM) or a kayak tour (4:00 – 6:00 PM) led by explorer and sailor David Thoreson, followed by an evening networking reception by the water.

Kayak Tour

4:00 – 6:00 PM – Departs Iowa Lakeside Lab
A guided paddle led by explorer and sailor David Thoreson. Kayaks and gear provided; all skill levels welcome.

David Thoreson

Okoboji-based explorer and sailor who leads the afternoon kayak tour. He’ll share stories from the water – from West Okoboji to the Northwest Passage.

Dinner Provided
Wind down the afternoon with a catered dinner and conversation right on the lake. Compare notes on what you saw on the tour, meet fellow attendees, and settle in ahead of the conference.
