New Water Supply Reservoir for Clarke County: A Marathon with a Sprinter’s Urgency
Description: This presentation will overview a reservoir that is proposed as a sustainable water supply for drought-stricken Clarke County, Iowa. Topics covered will include navigating challenges on permitting, design, mitigation, and securing funding for one of the largest new dams proposed in the state of Iowa in the 21st century.

Author Bios: Ashley Knudson is a water resources EIT with HDR with broad experience in water resources with an emphasis on surface waters and watershed projects. Her project experience related to surface water includes hydraulic and hydrologic modeling and spatial analyses for floodplain analyses, flood mitigation alternatives evaluations and report development.
Bryce Haines is a water resources engineer with HDR with extensive experience in a variety of projects including dam construction and rehabilitation, stream stabilization and restoration, levees, dredging, and green infrastructure. He has experience developing hydrologic and hydraulic models and construction documents.
