Microcystin biodegradation potentials of water and sediment microbiomes from Iowa lakes
Description: Microcystin biodegradation potential was studied in Clear Lake and North Twin Lake in Iowa during summer 2025 and 2026 through field sampling and testing in microcosms. Microcystin biodegradation potential was higher in sediment microbial communities than in water microbial communities and is important for protecting recreational water and public health.
