Cedar Rapids Stormwater Master Plan: A Living Stormwater Model

Description: The City of Cedar Rapids and HDR have been developing the Living Stormwater Model concept to maintain the City’s Stormwater Master Plan. The Living Stormwater Model concept allows the City to regularly use the model as a planning, design, and decision tool.

Author Bio: Stephanie Then Hooge is a water resources engineer with HDR and specializes in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling. Her career has been focused on improving municipal storm sewer systems through projects related to master planning, interior drainage, CIP development, and design support.

Ashley Knudson is a water resources EIT with HDR with experience in applying 1D/2D hydraulic modeling to stormwater planning and design projects, riverine flood modeling, and project alternatives analyses. Her project experience includes master planning including urban stormwater hydraulic modeling, project identification, cost estimating, CIP development, and green infrastructure best management practices (BMPs) site screening.
