A Statewide Comparison of Nutrient Load Estimation Methods Using Discrete Data in Iowa

Description: Using discrete water-quality and streamflow data in Iowa, site-specific and statewide load estimates were calculated for nitrate and total phosphorus using three modeling methods: linear interpolation, WRTDS, and WRTDS-K. Load estimates, and nutrient trend direction and magnitude were compared among the three load estimation methods.
