Objective:
This webinar identifies sustainability planning as an intentional process of looking critically at your current prevention infrastructure, strategic planning process, and strategies to sustain meaningful prevention outcomes beyond current funding. The speaker will Explore what sustainability looks like in the context of substance misuse, including how it’s defined, different sustainability approaches, and factors that contribute to success. They will also identify a step-by-step process for developing a written plan to sustain successful substance misuse prevention practices in the community. The webinar also introduces additional steps in sustainability planning, including priority setting, resource, and feasibility analysis, communication planning, and resource and grant development.
Speaker:
Erin Ficker has extensive experience in the development and delivery of training and technical assistance in substance use prevention focusing on system development and improvement. Before joining EDC, Ms. Ficker worked extensively with substance abuse prevention practitioners at the community level through the state of Illinois providing strategy specific training and technical assistance as well as conducting program evaluation of state-funded prevention programs. She holds a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas, Austin.
