Objective:
This webinar will identify emerging issues and trends such as the rise in e-sports and sports gambling or crypto-currency implications. The speaker will focus on proactively preparing for future considerations for prevention and treatment.

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify new and emerging trends in problem gambling behaviors.
  • Define the risk factors associated with newly emerging gambling settings and opportunities.
  • Discuss the impact of these new trends on prevention and treatment strategies.

Presenter:

Claire Spada, OCPC, ICPS is the Workforce Development Program Manager for Problem Gambling Network of Ohio and an Ohio Certified Prevention Consultant. She has worked in the prevention field for over 15 years which has included a focus on substance use and problem gambling prevention across the lifespan. Currently, Claire coordinates the statewide problem gambling conference, assists with training clinicians and prevention professionals, and works with drug and alcohol boards to utilize problem gambling funds effectively. Claire has experience coordinating gambling services for community agencies and has developed effective gambling screening procedures as well as has found success in integrating problem gambling into drug and alcohol prevention.
