Lisa is the Infection Prevention Coordinator at MercyOne Genesis in Davenport, IA. She has presented at both local, state and national conferences on multiple infection prevention & control topics, including professional development. She is a member of the APIC Board of Directors currently serving as treasurer. She has been involved with multiple projects as the national level and most recently served as chair of the APIC Ethics Committee and co-chair of the APIC/IPAC-Canada Task Force. She is a clinical editor for the APIC Text-On-line, and served as a contributing author to the 2011 and 2014 editions of the CIC Certification Study Guide. She is a past chair of the APIC Professional Development Committee, and served as a member of the APIC Competency Revision Task Force. Lisa is certified in Infection Prevention and Control through CBIC and Medical-Surgical Nursing through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. In 2016, she received APIC Fellow designation.

Description: This session will describe the development of the Ethical Infection Prevention and Control (EIPAC) framework. The framework helps healthcare professionals along with the Infection Preventionists (IP) work through complex ethical infection related situations and questions, helping to select the most appropriate course of action for the situation. The framework can be utilized in multiple practices settings and for a variety of issues. This session will include scenarios in which the framework can be applied to help reach a decision that supports the best outcome for the situation.

- Describe the development of the Ethical Infection Prevention and Control (EIPAC) framework.
- Describe the application of the EIPAC framework in multiple practice settings.
- Determine how the EIPAC framework can be applied in the infection prevention and control program in your practice settings.
