Dr. Veach received her medical degree, residency and fellowship training from the University of Iowa. She has been an Infectious Disease physician with UnityPoint Health in Des Moines since 1990 and has served as Infection Control Officer for UPH-DM since 1993. In addition, she has been active in medical education and antimicrobial stewardship at UPH-DM as well as leading the development of clinical infectious disease/antimicrobial stewardship telehealth outreach.

At the conclusion of this training, participants will be able to:
- Describe importance and impact of urine culture stewardship protocols.
- Understand role of diagnostic stewardship in other common settings: outpatient – pharyngitis, impatient – diarrhea.
- Describe the impact of antibiotic allergy delabeling on patient outcomes, including surgical site infections.
