Andrea Cottingham

Andrea Cottingham, MSN, RN, is the Infection Preventionist and Employee Health Patient Safety Nurse at Loring Hospital. She has over 12 years of nursing experience in acute care, including ICU, PACU, cardiac step-down, medical-surgical, psychiatric, and skilled care. Andrea chairs the Antimicrobial Stewardship and Safety Committees, where she has led initiatives such as bringing laundry services in-house and launching the Safety Spotlight program to support hands-on learning. In 2025, she received an award from RAS for her contributions. Andrea transitioned to infection prevention in 2023 and holds a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Western Governors University.
