Hope & Healing: A Mental Health Journey

Session Description: Lyndsey will share her personal mental health journey which has included 3 behavioral health stays totaling 59 days over a 10 year time period. Learn from her pitfalls and hear why shame shouldn’t be a part of your walk to an improved mental health. Participants will uncover a powerful list of non-negotiables to avoid breakdowns and live with a steady, healthy speed to better battle stress, anxiety, and feelings of worthlessness.

  • Understanding on why drugs can negatively impact peoples’ brains especially those with a mental illness.
  • Remove shame and stigma associated with mental illness.

Lyndsey Fennelly
Mental Health Advocate, Entrepreneur

Lyndsey (Medders) Fennelly is former Iowa State women’s basketball All-American and WNBA draftee of the Indiana Fever in 2007. She has been a successful business owner and entrepreneur as well as volunteer contributor in Ames, IA. Lyndsey has been a loud advocate since 2018 as a public speaker on mental health, visiting with over 130 engagements and reaching over 20,000 individuals in sharing her journey, hoping to create awareness while reducing the shame and stigma. She is a Mom to Will (10) and Callie (7) and married to Iowa State assistant basketball coach, Billy Fennelly.
