Working along the Continuum

Session Description
This keynote presentation will explore the continuum of care as defined by the Institutes of Medicine and explore the opportunities for all working within the continuum to benefit from the combined efforts along the SUD services path. The scope of prevention, treatment, recovery and harm reduction will be explored in an effort to identify key points where working together is stronger than the sum of the parts.

Objectives

  1. Describe the components of SUD continuum, and the distinctive roles within the continuum.
  2. Describe the intricacies of the roles throughout the continuum.
  3. List strategies for working smarter and being more effective by braiding roles throughout the full continuum of care.

Des Moines University is Iowa Board of Nursing approved provider #112. This live activity has been reviewed and approved for 1.25 continuing education contact hour(s).
