Prevention Along the Continuum

This breakout will take a deep dive into the role of primary prevention in the behavioral health continuum, the science that supports primary prevention and lessons learned in the translation between research and practice.
- Describe the unique nature of primary prevention and its role in the behavioral health continuum.
- Identify the common touch points of preventing any negative outcomes in substance use, mental health, or related issues in individuals, families and communities.
- Review the discussion paper published by the National Academy of Medicine “Unleashing the Power of Prevention” and list ideas for how to Unleash at the state level.
