Antibiotic Stewardship for Common Infectious Diseases in the Nursing Home

Dr. Tigh received a BS in Cell/Molecular Biology from Utah State University and went on to get his PharmD from the University of Utah in 2020. He completed PGY1 and PGY2 Infectious Diseases residencies at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha NE, where he remains as a ID pharmacist focused on tele- stewardship.

Description:  This session will review ways to improve antibiotic use for common infectious diseases in nursing homes including UTI, CAP, and SSTI. Learners will review the burden of common infections in nursing homes, be able to understand the presentations of common infections and review diagnostic criteria, and discuss the selection of appropriate therapy for common infections in nursing homes.
