Climate Hubs and Extension – Partners in Climate Informed Decisions and Agriculture

The USDA Climate Hubs continue to partner with Extension nationally across the regions as they have throughout their existence. From dealing with near-term issues in the Midwest, drought in the Southwest or longer-term planning and development of climate-related work across many of the hubs, extension and the Hubs are integral partners to helping achieve success of improving practice adoption on the ground. We will review and highlight some of the successes of the partnerships. A more recent specific development has been specific NIFA funding for Climate Hub-Extension partnership proposals. Several of these have already been funded. We will introduce some of these and review some of the outcomes after their first year and how they seek to help build frameworks for ongoing partnerships and developing and sharing new information.
